Privacy Policy
Last updated October 13, 2026
Money Ready teaches personal finance. We collect as little information as we can to run the app, we never sell it, and we never show ads. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
If you sign up on your own (age 13 and up):
- Your email address, from Google, Apple or the email you sign in with
- Your first name, and your last name only if you choose to give it
- Your age range (13 to 17, or 18 and up)
- Your learning activity: diagnostic answers, mission progress, check scores, XP, streaks and badges
If you join through a school class:
- Your school email address from your school Google account
- Your first name and last initial only
- Which class you joined
- Your learning activity, as above
We never ask for or store bank or card numbers, Social Security numbers, home addresses, phone numbers, precise location, photos or contacts. Lessons may ask you to think about money, but nothing you type into a lesson about your own finances is collected.
How we use it
- To run your account and keep you signed in
- To score your diagnostic and recommend the missions that will help you most
- To track XP, levels, streaks and badges
- For school students, to show your teacher your progress in their class
- To send a parent or guardian progress emails, only if they consent and you or your school set it up
- To keep the service secure and fix problems
We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Money Ready, under contracts that limit how they can use it:
- Supabase, which stores our database and handles sign-in
- Vercel, which hosts the website and app server
- Google and Apple, only to verify your identity when you choose to sign in with them
- An email delivery provider, to send sign-in codes and, with consent, parent progress emails
For school accounts, your teacher and authorized school staff can see your name, class and learning progress. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Students and schools
When a school uses Money Ready, the school controls its students' education records and we act on its behalf as a service provider under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). We only use student information to provide the service to the school. A school must sign a data agreement with us before its classes can open. Parents of school students should contact their school to review or delete their child's records, and we will help the school do it.
Children under 13
Children under 13 cannot sign up on their own. They can only use Money Ready through a school class, where the school provides consent on behalf of parents for this educational use, as allowed under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 signed up on their own, email us and we will delete the account.
Keeping and deleting your information
You can delete your account at any time from the Me tab, under Account. For individual accounts, this permanently deletes your profile and learning history right away. For school accounts, we send the deletion request to your school, which controls the record, and we delete it when the school confirms or when the school's agreement ends.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Our database blocks direct access from apps and browsers, so all access goes through our server, which checks who you are on every request.
Your choices
- See your information in the app any time
- Ask us for a copy, a correction or deletion by emailing support
- Delete your account from inside the app
Changes
If we make a meaningful change to this policy, we will update the date above and tell you in the app before it takes effect.
